On the pay-as-you-go plan, each receipt scan costs one credit. That credit covers reading your receipt and tracking the price of every item on it, every day, for as long as the refund window is open. When we detect a price drop and notify you, a small commission is deducted from your remaining credit balance — never from your card and never upfront. Credits never expire, so you can buy a pack once and use it whenever you shop.

Unlimited is a subscription that removes credits entirely — scan as many receipts as you like and we track them all. It's $4.99/month, or $49.99/year if you pay annually (2 months free). It's made for households that shop every week and don't want to think about top-ups. You can cancel anytime.

Yes — many people never pay for a credit. Invite a friend and you both get bonus credits when they join, and you earn credits for contributing and sharing price data that helps the whole community save. Your balance keeps topping up as you use the app.

When PriceBack spots an eligible price drop, you get a notification with the item, the new price, and the refund amount. Bring that to Costco within their price-adjustment window — in person or through their channels — and they refund you the difference. PriceBack gives you everything you need to make the claim.

This first version is built around Costco and its price-adjustment policy. We're adding more major retailers in upcoming versions — and your saved receipts will start working with them automatically as they go live.

Signing in lets your receipts sync across devices and keeps your referral code attached to your account. The receipt photos themselves stay on your device — we only store the parsed line items needed to track prices.

A scan spends a credit the moment we read the receipt, even if you discard it afterward — we pay our OCR provider per scan, so a spent credit can't be refunded. If a receipt won't read cleanly, retake the photo in good light, flat and fully in frame, before scanning.

Yes. Scan a Costco shelf tag that has a genuine, unexpired instant-savings discount and you earn a credit once the savings is verified — up to 5 credits a week and 15 a month. Tags with no savings, or expired savings, still help the community price pool but don't earn a credit.

Subscribe to Unlimited on the annual plan. If PriceBack finds no price drop on your receipts during that year, we add another year of Unlimited to your account at no charge. The conditions: you keep the annual plan all year, scan at least 15 receipts, get no refund, and keep auto-renew on until we confirm — we check 14 days before your renewal and tell you in the app. Your store subscription renews on its own, so turn auto-renew off once we confirm; if you're charged anyway, your guarantee year simply starts when that paid year ends.
